BOSTON, Mass. – After two victories in relief helped Hartford baseball to a series win over UAlbany this past weekend, freshman Will Nowak was named America East Rookie of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday. 
 
Nowak took home wins in the Hawks' two victories over UAlbany this past weekend in pressure situations. On Saturday, he worked out of a bases load jam, hurling a strikeout for the final out of the inning and allowing Hartford to walk off in the bottom of the seventh. The next day, Nowak entered the game in the eighth inning and recorded two strikeouts to keep the score level and help the Hawks record it second walk off win of the weekend. 
 
Nowak finished the week with his first two victories of the season, striking out three batters and allowing zero runs. He is 2-1 on the season with seven strikeouts and a 5.81 ERA.
 
Hartford is back in action at home against Bryant on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
